Information Gathering Process Continues
Over the last 4 weeks, the BWFCST has carried out extensive consultation with Supporters Direct, with board members and senior management of other football clubs and with other Supporters’ Trusts. The amount and depth of advice and guidance given has been nothing short of staggering. Detailed discussions with all parties have included club management and governance, football club finances, supporter-based club ownership and fundraising from supporters and the local community.
Following this advice and guidance and in consideration of the regulatory guidelines issued by the FCA Community Shares Unit, the BWFCST has identified some important features that will need to be explicitly considered if the Trust were to follow the example of clubs like Hearts and Portsmouth in raising funds from BWFC supporters to buy a stake in the club. Many aspects are currently being evaluated and we will report out findings and conclusions for further consideration as soon as possible. All information being reviewed will be assessed with the purpose of achieving stability and sustainability of the club for the future and for the supporters.
