I started following the Wanderers in the late 80’s early 90’s whilst at college, studying catering and hospitality management, where I was employed by a local company, and we got to work a lot of the sportsman’s dinners etc at Burnden park. I quickly got an insight into the club and regularly saw the players around and about, as a young lad, it was awesome to be in such close proximity to them.
My first real adventure was to the Sherpa Van Trophy Final! I tried as much as possible to get to home games, but working in the catering industry, this was not very often, so I was more of an armchair supporter. I eventually got my first season ticket at the Reebok, after coming out of the licensed trade and going in to logistics, enabling me to have weekends free. I’ve experienced highs and lows just as we all have
I’m glad I have been able to join the board of the Bolton Wanderers’ Supporters’ Trust. For me, the idea of the supporters’ trust is to get the best situation all around for the club, not the chairman and his family. We need to get as many fans as possible involved having their say in what happens to the future of BWFC. We never want to be in a situation again being only minutes from being wound up. If that sounds like something you want to get involved with then do get in touch.
